Cover-Up Tattoos in Kathmandu

A cover-up is a conversation before it is a design. What is possible depends almost entirely on what is already there.

There is no honest way to promise that every tattoo can be covered. Some can, some need more than one session, and some are better addressed with lightening first or a different approach entirely.

We assess the existing tattoo in person and explain what the options realistically are.

What this involves

How it works

Original tattoo size

A larger existing tattoo needs a larger new design, or one that uses dark areas deliberately.

Darkness

Solid black is the hardest thing to cover. Lighter, faded work is more forgiving.

Line density

Dense, detailed work leaves less room to disguise the original.

Placement

Some areas are easier to design around than others.

Scar tissue

Scarred skin behaves differently and affects what is realistic.

Desired new design

The new design has to be chosen to work with the old one, not against it.
