Tattoo FAQ
The questions we are asked most often, answered plainly. If yours is not here, contact the studio — we would rather answer it than have you guess.
Before Your Tattoo
Before Your Tattoo
Eat properly beforehand, stay hydrated, avoid alcohol for at least 24 hours and get a reasonable night's sleep. Wear clothing that gives easy access to the placement area. If you are unwell on the day, tell us and we can reschedule.
You can. Bring a sketch, a reference, a photograph or even a written description. Many clients arrive with an idea rather than a finished design, and that is completely normal. The artist will develop it with you.
Look at their actual work, ideally healed photographs rather than only fresh ones. Read how they talk about their process. Then book a consultation and see whether they listen to your idea before they start drawing.
Cost & Booking
Cost & Booking
Tattoo pricing depends on size, detail, placement, colour and the number of sessions, so a genuine quote requires a consultation. We do not publish fixed prices because a number that ignores those factors would be misleading. Contact the studio with your idea and we can discuss it properly.
Use the booking form on this site, call the studio or message us. Sharing your idea, references, placement and approximate size in advance helps us give you useful guidance before you come in.
Visitors are welcome to enquire. The practical considerations are timing and aftercare — you need to leave enough time in your trip for the session and to understand how to care for the tattoo afterwards, including during travel. Contact the studio before you arrive so we can plan around your dates.
During Your Tattoo
During Your Tattoo
Most people describe it as a persistent scratch or sting rather than sharp pain, but it varies by placement, design and individual. Sensitive areas are more intense. We work at a pace you can manage and check in with you throughout.
It depends entirely on the piece. Small, simple tattoos can be completed in a short session, while detailed or larger work can take several hours or span multiple sessions. We give you a realistic estimate after the consultation.
It depends on the studio's space and the session. Ask when you book, and we will let you know what works.
Aftercare & Healing
Aftercare & Healing
Keep it clean, keep it lightly moisturised with the product we recommend, avoid soaking it, protect it from direct sun and do not pick or scratch it. You will leave with written guidance specific to your tattoo.
The surface usually settles within a few weeks, but skin continues to repair underneath for longer. Full settling can take several months. If anything looks unusual, contact the studio rather than guessing.
Sometimes. It depends on the size, darkness, line density and placement of the original tattoo, whether there is scar tissue and what you want the new design to be. Not every tattoo can be covered, which is why a cover-up always starts with a consultation.
